Handwritten is an idea that has come from the notebooks in which I keep my ongoing thoughts on photography. Sometimes the notebooks contain pictures, usually cut from contact sheets & pasted in. My use of notebooks, contact sheets & handwriting seems like something of the past, a memory or reverie.
‘Contact sheets’, the words suggest physicality, something corporeal, so outdated in this age ofvirtual information.
I will be creating a book of small photographs, mostly taken from old contact sheets, the photographs will be accompanied by hand written text. All this will be collected in a Moleskine notebook, like the ones I have used for my notes for 10 years or more. Each time I complete a double page spread I will scan it & post it on this blog until the book is filled.
